Ospedaletti is a small seaside town between Sanremo and Bordighera: around 3,200 residents and just over five square kilometres stretching from sea level to the first hills. It is quiet and sheltered, with a mild climate: a choice for those who want to live near Sanremo without the bustle of the city. Here is what it is like, what is there and the homes you can find.
One centre, on a human scale
Ospedaletti is not divided into separate hamlets: the whole area surrounds a single centre, which you can explore on foot. Here you will find the church of San Giovanni Battista, completed in 1824, the small church of Sant'Erasmo, dating from the 14th century, and the Santuario della Madonna delle Porrine. In the centre stands Villa La Sultana, built in 1883, which housed Italy's first casino from 1884 to 1905, with a park of around 14,000 square metres. Between 1947 and 1972, the town's streets hosted car and motorcycle Grands Prix: the «Circuito di Ospedaletti».
The sea and the cycle path
Ospedaletti's seafront promenade, passeggiata Pertini, is a section of the Riviera dei Fiori cycling and walking path, built along the old railway route: flat, car-free and beside the sea. Follow it all the way and you reach Sanremo and beyond, as far as Arma di Taggia. On the border with Bordighera, at Capo Sant'Ampelio, there is a public beach with a lovely sea view.

The homes you can find

- Villas with gardens on the hillside, with space and quiet.
- Homes in the historic centre, with less space but everything conveniently within walking distance.
Who it suits
Those looking for peace, the sea and cycling more than city life: retirees, couples, families who work in Sanremo or want a quiet second home. Bear in mind that a wider range of services (the hospital, the station, shopping) is in Sanremo, around 5 km away.
